Home Again: Revitalizing Communities One Home at a Time

In January 2002, Mayor Anthony A. Williams introduced his Home Again Initiative to transform vacant and abandoned residential properties into single-family homeownership opportunities for residents. By increasing homeownership and eliminating blight, Home Again helps to stabilize neighborhoods and contribute to local economic sustainability.

Achievements (as of the 1st Quarter 2004)
  • 76 properties awarded to pre-qualified developers. Out of the 76 properties 89 housing units will be created
  • 18 of the 76 properties are under construction
  • 6 homes completed and sold to new homeowners
  • 244 properties have been rehabilitated by their owners after being encouraged by Home Again
